10.5 MILLION CHILDREN ARE OUT OF SCHOOL IN NIGERIA

Even though primary education is officially free and compulsory, about 10.5 million of the country’s children aged 5-14 years are not in school. Only 61% of 6-11 year-olds regularly attend primary school and only 35.6% of children aged 36-59 months receive early childhood Education.

It is reported from UNICEF Education that one out of five children out of school is a Nigerian, which is not a good news for us as a nation. I know our govt are trying their best to address this situation we are in, but they have to do more to change the narrative.

If our children are giving the opportunity to be educated we are doing it for our own good, we will have a secured future, a future were we won't have criminals, a future where our youths can compete in many different capabilities in terms of science & technology, administration Health Etc.

For government to make this a reality and ensuring educational provision comes to fusion, they need to focus more in rural areas and the impact of insurgency in the northeast, because they present significant challenges in the North-eastern and North-western states, 29% and 35% of Muslim children, respectively, receive Qur’anic education, which does not include basic skills such as literacy and numeracy.

The government considers children attending such schools to be officially out-of-school. So you can now understand why we need to do more to correct this problem facing this country in grass root education. I will commend  the Government of Kaduna State led by Governor Elrufai for it's moves in making children go back to school, I wish that the Federal Government will do more to address this issue of children been out of school.
God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬
